Knights of Pythias

Tis the Season Flowers and Gifts is in the heart of downtown New Castle. They offer many funeral remembrances to send to honored loved one’s memories. They also offer hundreds of headstone saddles and other items for Memorial Day or year-round. Also, “Tis is Henry County’s largest outlet for fireworks from sparklers to giant aerials at prices not equaled by any other competitor. Proceeds from the operation of the ‘Tis store supports the Knights of Pythias Castle Hall and Pythian charities and the annual Christmas Parade and downtown decorations.

The workforce is all volunteer and members of the K of P or Pythian Sisters.  Their volunteers always look forward to a couple of their key events and fundraisers. First, the Fourth of July fireworks sales are a very busy time and require many hours of volunteer time in ordering, setting up and selling. Then they will begin the preparations for the November 20th 23rd Annual Knights of Pythias All American Christmas Parade with the arrival of Santa Claus for the kids (and adults).

The K of P is excited about the positive movement in downtown New Castle. The newly awarded funding for the scaffy will help keep all of downtown clean and welcoming and also the wayfinding signage that has been talked about for so long is finally coming to be. They are thankful for the excellent support of the Chamber of Commerce, the New Castle Main Street organization, and other downtown business owners.

Clienteles come from Greenfield, Connersville, Hagerstown, Richmond, Rushville, Muncie, Anderson, Cambridge City, west Indy and Ohio and so many more communities. In 2022 the store will celebrate its 20th anniversary and it is growing larger each year…even through a pandemic!

If you are looking for a way to get more involved in the community and a service organization this may be a perfect fit for you. The Knights of Pythias is always looking for new members. If you are interested stop by and visit with Floppy, the Bassett Hound, the mascot of the Knights and talk to Denny Adams and he will get your information or get your signed up for a great experience in one of New Castle’s oldest Fraternal lodges.

Be sure to stop in for your Memorial Day flowers, Fourth of July fireworks and check out their 50% off items!
