A sunny outlook for the Chamber as Summer ends...
Well, summer is over and what a busy one it was! So many changes and updates have been made in the past few months! The office is constantly being updated and made to run more efficiently- we hope everyone is seeing these efforts and benefitting from them. The newsletter is now being distributed through email and online only, the Chamber can be found on Facebook and Twitter and our fax should be up and running again soon! Cash Bonanza was yet again a big success and we really appreciate the support from all of our members and community members! The first annual Wine and Art Gala was a great new event, despite the rain. Everyone who attended raved about the atmosphere, facility, artists, wineries, music and we cannot wait to see what next year holds for the event! Our Sept. Lunch with Lt Gov. Becky Skillman was a big hit again this year, with over 100 attendees!
We have 22 new members join the Chamber since June! Thank you to Mike McIntosh, Arin Davis, Laura Anderson, our great Board of Directors and Members for making this possible!
The Chamber has also overcome the Certificheck battle and is now making the new ChamberCheck program available! The program is run strictly through the Chamber office and a local Mainsource Bank branch. The ChamberChecks will be available at all participating Chamber Businesses. We are looking forward to serving our members and the community with this improved gift certificate program!
Overall, we have had a very productive and exciting summer at the Chamber and we are looking forward to the end of the year.

Good Friday Afternoon!
What a busy summer at the NCHC Chamber of Commerce. With the staffing changes, board member changes, office updates and 3 major summer events under our belt, we are ready to move ahead at full speed! We would like to welcome Arin Davis, executive assistant and Laura Anderson, events coordinator to our staffing team. Also, welcome Vickie McIntosh and Doug Meier to our board of directors! Thank you to everyone who helped make our Mt. Lawn Chamber Night, Golf Outing and July Lunch with the Chamber a success. Thank you to John Alumbaugh, Derek Manor, Octal Systems and Anderson Systems Integration for helping move our office into the 21st century. I am proud to say we now have working phones, internet and computers and can now properly function in today's digital busienss world!
Now, I just wanted to take a few minutes to highlight some upcoming Chamber events.
Tonight at 7pm in the New Castle Arts Park, the Henry County Concert Series will present Kevin Stonerock. Kevin describes himself as "too folk for the rock market, too country for the folk crowd and too rock for mainstream country." Interesting...we hope everyone comes out to hear what Kevin can do with all these musical styles! Dont forget to put the Sofa Kings on your calendar for August 7 at 7pm in the Arts Park. Admission is free- Donations are always welcome!
And I know everyone has been waiting for the hype, so here it comes.....IT'S CASH BONANZA TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!! 
I am proud to say that, despite the financial woes of the economy right now, tickets are going fast! Also, we would like to send out a big thank you to everyone who is donating prizes, raffles, silent auction items and more. Keep it coming!! We are very excited about how the event is shaping up and we hope to see everyone there...well at least 300 of you.
Finally, Henry County Curb Appeal. Check out the Tuesday, July 21st issue of Chamber Talk in the Courier for information regarding the 2009 Henry County Curb Appeal Awards. A flyer is also in the July newsletter section of our website! Lets show our appreciation for those who add to and improve the aesthetics of our community. Nominate someone today! The deadline for nominations is August 17th.
